Dave,

There's a STEEL bushing that goes in your wing main spar. Bolts used to
secure front attach point is AN10 for Moose, AN8 for Super Rebel.

Cheers,
Jeff

What's up???

Jeff,

Found the W712s' and the info in the upgrade manual. Should have read a
little further first.

Any other tips on wing install would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks All,

Dave,

I could say the same to you about asking questions on New Years Eve.......
lol. I'm here having a great time with my family, daughter of 5 yrs. After
we ring in the New Year together and then falls asleep, I'll be doing my
volunteering for "Operation Red Nose"; they drive people and their vehicle
home (keeping the roads safe for everyone).

Happy New Year

Don't forget the lift struts also get 5/8" bolts for a SR-3500.
Drill and final ream them to size when setting the 1* Dihedral on the wings,
use a digital level if you have one down to 1-tenth degree.
A snug fit would be best for all 3 points if you have the equipment, be as
precise as you can.

Hi Dave!

It has probably already been said but I didn't see it so here's one more
tip: I'd use slightly smaller bolts on your wing attach points and save the
reaming for final install. I've had my wings off 4 times in the month
since we first put them on, with several more times coming, I'm sure. This
way you can fit them over and over w/o worrying about a sloppy fit. Have
fun! Craig

[rebel-builders] Wing Install

Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:58 pm
by Richard Wampach
Dave you bring up a thought that I did not think of.

I used the pre drilled holes in the front and rear spars for alignment on
wing incidence. Everything aligned very well, wing top skin to fuselage
skin when I made the gap filler at this location...So I feel it is a non
issue.

However when you go to set the Dihedral of 1* of wings to fuselage be as
accurate as you can (I used a digital level in tenth's of a degree) set
things up to .01* recheck about 10 times that the fuselage is level across
the floor structure, then wing 1* setting, then drill and ream the bolt
holes for the lift struts to 5/8". Make them as tight (close tolerance) as
you can.

I wish you "Good Skill" instead of good luck on this important part of
setting up the wing installation, it is not hard to do but do bee precise.

When installing the wings do you use the hole in the rear fuselage wing
attach as a guide or do you have to set an angle of incidence then drill to
fit. I can't find anything in the manual.
