...makes for a very sporty airplane.

It's been just over a year since first flight on amphib floats. A great
summer of camping on mountain lakes. My first annual just completed with no
major or even significant issues. So, what do you do when your favorite
lakes are freezing up or already frozen?

Pop off the floats and figure out how to fly this crazy plane with only 3
wheels instead of the amphib's four. First flight teetering on only 3 wheels
was a week ago. The airplane schooled me some more yesterday, especially my
landings. YouTube video link below:

What a great plane design. I have very low tailwheel time and feel very
comfortable bouncing it around on my landings. I've even greased a few,
several even. All have been 3 point attempts both on pavement and grass
(with a dusting of snow). Some have been 3 wheel, some 2, and I probably
have landed with the tailwheel first too, but I'm still getting educated by
the plane. The design forgives and forgets.

Everyone wants numbers. It takes off in 2 feet and breaks the sound barrier
just after getting airborne at 5000fpm. I need a little more flight time for
more accurate numbers.

Enjoy.
