I used a stainless
female marine eye on a grade 5 bolt.
Mike I believe I purchased them from Westcoast Marine. They screw on the
end of a bolt and take the place of a nut.

[rebel-builders] Tie down ring

Hi Larry,

Since the strut fittings are secured with AN4 bolts (1/4") then I would
recommend part # S0322-0007. If you like to use the next size larger, part
# S0322-0008 (5/16"), this can be done simply by increasing the hole
diameter where you are going to install the tie down ring. Up sizing bolt
hole from 1/4" to 5/16" is a non-issue.

Cheers,
Jeff

Also notice the 1/4 and 5/16 eyes are the same dimensions except for
the threaded hole. I bet you could re-tap the 1/4" one to 5/16 NF and
use a real AN bolt.
