[rebel-builders] Question to Bob P

Mike

Thank you for that post.
My experiences are somewhat ancient but MAM came through for everything
that was important to me when building. I didn't ask for stuff ASAP if I
didn't need it ASAP. After all they were never a large company. I didn't
bother them if some hardware wasn't the exact quantity or size to my
liking. That would bother some guys I suppose but I figured that I
needed to stock some nuts, bolts, and aluminum anyway if I was going to
maintain the thing. They ever charged my credit card until stuff
shipped. It's good to hear that things are getting back in shape at MAM.

There were 6 happy Rebels that flew into Bob P's builders meeting last
weekend. Three of those will likely be on skiis the next time I see
them. Some of them will be on floats for next summer. Three of them
cruise on less than 5 usgph even when loaded for cross country camping
trips. Others preferred larger Lycomings and go faster. Not many
aircraft are quite this versatile. :)

Hi all,
I'm something like half way to completing Rebel 818 downunder in
Australia. Have been seeing some angst about parts/back order supply and
have been tempted to add my worries to the discussion recently, as I've
been waiting for some time, and finding it impossible to contact MAM.
I was able to talk to them by phone today and was surprised and
pleased to find them cooperative, and very keen to sort out the problems.
As a result, I'm expecting most of my back ordered parts to be on the way
within a week. There will still be a few things they will have to catch up
on, but I'll have more than enough to keep me busy for at least half a year.
I'm hoping that common sense will prevail, in a perfect world I would
be critical of their performance but in the current conditions I have to
recognize their intentions seem good. It would be a great shame if they
went under, so lets apply some of that common sense..........I think they
will too.
I'm also keen to hear from other Murphy flyers and builders in this
part of the world, please drop me a line.
Cheers Mike
