Windshields

LP does NOT deal directly with the public ! Stop bothering them ! They do deal directly with the public they are a great company they just won't sell you a windshield with out a PO from MAM. If you have a problem with a windshield or windows they are glad to help. They do answer the phone and return e-mails.
If you'd been reading the emails, Keith, you'd realize that the
process is:
1. Order your windshield from Murphy. Same as before.
2. Murphy issues a Purchase Order to LP with your address, etc. Same as before.
3. Murphy advises you of the P.O. number. Requires an phone call or e-mail from MAM.
4. You contact LP WITH the P.O. number, and arrange payment
for that order directly to LP. Give LP your credit card number and LP sends the mark up to MAM instead of MAM sending money to LP. Actually better for the U.S. customer no exchange fees on the credit card
You all should realize that this is an enormous inconvenience
for LP, and entirely unnecessary ! I don't see any inconvenience for LP. Murphy made these arrangements
solely to accommodate a few 'moaning minnies' who were worried
about their money, (and your not worried about your money?) and implied they didn't trust Murphy !!!!
Several steps, I see one extra step for LP and MAM and a lot of wasted time and expense,? could be saved by
just ordering from Murphy and giving your credit card number
to them, as was always the practice in the past.
These same 'moaning minnies' seem to be discouraging anyone
from dealing with Murphy. This is unfortunate, as it is really
preventing/slowing them from getting back into full production.
We have enough orders for a run of floats - but now everybody
is worried they may not get them .... NOBODY has ever ordered
a kit from Murphy and NOT received it ! Yes, they have had
problems with shipping errors and lost emails, and they are
working to fix that - hence this windshield arrangement.
If there is no trust, they are out of business ....
The moaners couldn't be more effective if they WANTED them to close !
Sorry - just fed up ! They ARE trying to satisfy people,
just give them a chance .....
Don't you think there a lot of fed up customer's out there that want to be able to finish aircraft now that they may be laid off or have no job at all? Some have been waiting for parts for a long time.
I own two Rebel's neither of which were purchased from MAM but I have purchased two float kits from them and parts at various times and shortages were all received, but then I was able to talk with someone at MAM within a day or two. If your looking to buy a kit or project from a second or third owner take your time to inventory everything and take someone along that is familier with the type of aircraft your buying if you can. Just my 2c worth.
