Thanks for the compliments Dick. You have to be pretty darn close to done,
aren't you? For those of you that don't know Dick, he's actually building a
Moose-Cessna, otherwise known as a MooseNa <grin>. Can't wait to see it at
Oshkosh this next summer Dick--it will be a wonderful example of
craftsmanship for sure!

You're right, Dick, about the strap material being there to create a
box-beam structure--adds tremendous strength.

If I am following you fellows correctly:

At station 6 (rear door post) across the top of the fuselage, just forward
of the flap torque tube the piece measures .022" (with zinc chromate on it)
and it is 1-7/8" wide. I would be tempted to go to 2" in width if I was
making them. This really creates a solid Box Beam.

I didn't have to go to the airport to measure because I am still working on
mine in the garage 17 steps down...Not like Ted's which is finished and
flying and taking him to wonderful places, and was show central at Oshkosh
this year, and party headquarters for dozens of us, and shade, and. and,
and!!!
OK Ted, I'll calm down and take my blood pressure meds and be alright in a
few hours!

Sounds about right, the width is more important, as to straighten out the
door post

Without getting out the micrometer (and since I'm not at the hangar
anyway)
those are probably 0.020 (or 0.025 if you can't get 0.020) 6061 T6. I
think
you're right about the 3" but I'd have to measure the length/height. Same
material that connects station 7/8 across the cabin top (doing this from
memory--so I want to double check for you later).

Thanks Ted, they are the straps that go on the door post. Probably 3
inches
wide. They run vertically up and down.
