lower corner wraps

Hi all

Was installing .032 lower corner wraps on weekend and was going to leave
some extra width on them to add another row of rivets on side and bottom as
suggested by some builders.

Was wondering however on rivet spacing and pitch. Should the second row of
rivets be same as the first or offset ? Also how far apart from the first
row 3/4", 1" , 1 1/4" ??

Any suggestions out there??

I AM GOING TO BE REMOVING MY ENGINE AND INSTALLING A NEW MOTOR MOUNT FOR MY
O-290. IF I ADD THE .032 CORNER WRAPS, SHOULD THEY BE ADDED OVER (IN
ADDITION TO) THE EXISTING, OR SHOULD THE EXISTING BE REMOVED?

If you're going to change them (and I wouldn't if they're not bending)
you should remove the old ones first ...

Your call !! That's the joy of homebuilding !!!!

Most likely - offset, same spacing as orig. row, and as far
in as possible, giving correct edge distance.

If you look at the spacing of the two rows of rivets on the outboard
side of the tank skin you will get an indication of a good way to join a
thick sheet to a thin sheet. The rivets in the inboard rivet line are
close together. The rivets in the outboard line are farther apart so
that the outboard line weakens the thinner wing skin less and more
strength is passed through to the inboard rivet line.
