I believe either will work just fine Terry.
I also used 7404 to rivet the fibreglass windshield retainer to the
fuselage. And I've seen them used to rivet in the side widows but I
preferred aluminum mandrel pop rivets if you use acrylic plexiglass for
that as those apply even less pressure.

Having trouble accessing the archives for the past couple of weeks, so I haven’t come up with an answer to a rivet question. So, here it goes.

I am gathering supplies for an upcoming Rebel Flaperon covering session, Chapter 3, page 4, #20 “Flaperon Coveringâ€Â

Hello Terry,I just finished my flapperon covering today.I was
wondering the same as you.I used the shorter rivet as it seemed to
pull a little better than the longer ones.A couple of the longer ones
didn't seem to pull tight enough.Too long?don't know but the shorter
ones worked great.Don't know where they meant for all those other
rivets to be used.Landing gear cover?

Thanks Ken and Jason for the information on the fabric rivets. Looks like I will try the shorter of the two large head rivets. Going to gather tools and purchase supplies today.

Thanks Ken for the aluminum body/aluminum stem rivet suggestion. I have already cut and drilled (but not installed) MAM supplied Lexan with oversize holes at the upper doors. Will standard rivets be okay there? My two skylights and opera windows have MAM trim rings, so no need to drill Lexan there.

Thanks again for the information!

Hi Terry

With lexan I suspect any rivet will work as it is more forgiving
than acrylic. However it does expand and contract with temperature like
acrylic. That said, I used acrylic everywhere since it tends to last
longer without yellowing. And tinted stuff was available locally for the
skylights.

I have seen avex used but personally I'd favor hardware store aluminum
pop rivets for plastic. Any rivet that does not expand radially to fill
the hole would be better than our standard avex rivet I think.
