Jabiru Engine/ Rebel

Post by Jims170A » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:27 pm

Hi all
I now have a 6 cylinder Jabiru engine setting on the hanger floor.
I just picked it up today after it clear Customs (only $8 fee ). The Engine
comes complete with everything on it, even a cable on the starter.
It only took about 10 days to get the engine shipped to the West Coast at a
cost of about $300us. It also came with an installation manual, maintenance
manual and a parts book.
The current cost (today) of the engine is about $9,000us due to the current
state of the Australia dollar (I paid about $200 more ). They also sell motor
mounts for the rebel.
I feel this engine needs to be give Serious Consideration if your are still
looking for an engine in the 100 to 120 HP range. It would be hard to find
any engine in this price range let alone a new complete engine.
If anyone is interested I will post more info on how to order a Jabiru Engine
from Australia.

Hi Jim,

Congratulations on your new Jab engine. I bet you have found new inspiration
to complete your plane. If I'm not mistaken I thought you lived in Spokane
and I saw your project several months ago. Are you the same Jim?
