Thanks Dale !! Sounds like you've got a winner !!!

Does the prop require re-torquing regularly, like all
wood props, or does the carbon fiber coating avoid that ??

Full power, they both indicated 115mph/2600rpm.

Rebel pilots,

The Sensenich was a 74-56, and the Prince a74-44. I questioned the 44 pitch
and was told because off the P-tips semitar shape, and because the blades
cone under a load, it changes pitch. It does work!

I do not know if I will need to re-torque the prop

, but plan on checking it out.

Prince prop has a site for better information, www.princeaircraft.com.
They have made over 6000 props in the last 22 years.

Lonnie Prince has said I could have better performance if I would have

Rick,
I can not tell any difference between props at idle.
Because the prop has a wood core, there is a life time waranty from
cracking.

82" Borer props are certified for O-320's, so that's a diameter that's okay.
There is a >LOT< more room than that if your floats are mounted per MAM's
drawings, but sure wouldn't be a quiet thing at 2600 RPM now would it??

Wayne G. O'Shea

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:58 pm

What's the pricing on the Prince Prop?? Sounds like maybe the way to go to
achieve the lightness of the Warp Drive and the Performance of the big metal
club!

Dale, which model Sensenich did you remove, the newer DM wide chord tip
style or the older tapering/rounded tip style??

Wayne
The prop removed was a DM 74-56, just overhauled.

I have replaced my sensenich prop with a Prince (wood/carbon fiber)
prop.
It
outperforms the sensenich prop in thrust, rate of climb and is 22 lbs.
lighter.
The cruise speed is the same.

Dale,

How interesting about your Prince prop out performing the Sensenich. The
22lb. not hanging way out front of the C&G is enough of a plus on its own! Have
any more detail on the specs? I suppose the only real draw back would be its use
on a float plane, being wood and composite. tell use more.

Bruce

Wayne
I bought the prince prop through Coleen at Murphy.
The cost was around $1,800.00 which included leading edge protection for sea
use.
Prince has been making props for over 25 years, currently about 300 props a
year, including the props for the military on the predator unmaned aircraft.
