And you can build a hangar without asking permission or getting a buildingThanks John...I am keeping track of #'s interested. One issue I may be up
against is interior completion, as I'm just doing the main hull on gear
without the inner floors/controls/etc completed. I know I can dig up a lot
of things from my picture files like windshield install, probably inner
floor from my film photos to scan, etc. We'll see how it goes.
As for the lack of float bases and such...this is where I always razz the
guys on Supercubs.org. USA with all it's freedoms and
rights...speech..firearms..etc. but when it comes to aviation you guys
really suck the hind..... compared to Canada. Some states U can't land in
ANY lake. Every county gets to approve or disapproved of having your own
airstrip in your yard..etc...etc. We can land just about anywhere on
floats.....except the navigatable channels of the Rideau and Trent systems
and inside the Provincial park boundaries unless PPR has been obtained.
Other than that, and it took me some huge hassles and frazzled nerves to
learn this phrase.... "The provinces and their counties/municipalities have
no constitutional power to asses any planning power on an aerodrome". That
said you can put a runway anywhere in Canada provided it is not inside the
built up area of a town or city (Federal directive)..... without anyone's
blessing.
