Elevator trim

Post by rebelair » Fri Feb 17, 2012 5:46 pm

Hi There

On my kit, the elevator trim was an optional extra. Maybe it is now being
offered as a standard part of the kit. If you went to the Murphy web site &
looked at the pricing section, you could soon tell if it is now being sent
with the total kit.

All,

Nope. No hinge in my kit. Everything else is there. I think the trim is a
standard item now. I was not given an option. The trim kit parts are listed
on a separate parts list which is made a part of that chapter in my manual.
It lists the hinge, but it wasn't in the kit.

Wayne thanks for the info regarding hinge size. That is exactly what I was
looking for.

With regard to my question about moving the trim cut line, I elected to cut
it at the required distance. I felt that to move the trim spar, which is a
fixed height, further into the taper of the trim tab would upset the overall
thickness of the whole piece. If that makes any sense.

Anyway, I'm moving on...

Hi Roger !

Just heard back from Brian in the Tech. Dept.. There
WAS an ommission on the parts packing list for the hinge material.

EVERYONE who DID NOT RECEIVE the 2 foot Aluminum trim tab hinge
material can get it by just calling the Shipping Dept. at Murphy &
letting them know. It will be shipped right away !!

SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE !!

....bobp

PS
The electric trim kit IS now standard equipment on the Rebel kit.
It WAS an option, but is now included, making the Rebel kit an even better
buy !

Elevator trim

Bob,

Do you have the part number for the aluminum trim tab hinge? I would like to
check my packing list to see if the hinge was included on the list.

Terry

Elevator trim

Post by Bob Patterson » Fri Feb 17, 2012 5:46 pm

Terry,
Sorry, I don't have a number. It is a 2 foot section of Aluminum
piano hinge, and was left off of the packing list, apparently.

ANYONE who did NOT receive the hinge can just tell Elaine in
Shipping, and it will be sent out ASAP. If you need other supplies,
like more Epoxy Primer, the hinge can be shipped at the same time, to
ease the pain a bit ....

Thanks !
