Commercial Offers

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:42 pm

Well........ I have a 1977 Dodge Ramcharger with a 400 big block in it that
I chopped 8" and welded the 6 sections of roof panel all back together
somewhere back about 1991. Then I got hooked on airplanes and never got
around to finishing it!!

Seriously.............. thanks for the "2 cents" Walter, I'm still blushing!

Thanks,
Wayne

My 2 cents...

Hey, as far as I'm concerned, Wayne can use this list
to sell anything he wants. With the amount this guy has
contributed, Murphy should buy him an airplane! I for
one, have a better airplane because of him, and he is
still coming up with new fixes and ideas for
improvement. Thanks Wayne, and hope you have time for
your own business, too.

I don't have a problem with others using the list to
sell, too, as long as it doesn't get cluttered with
useless or questionable products. Haven't seen that
yet, though.

And thanks to you, too, Mike, for making such a
valuable list available to us.

Walter

Guess I'll reply to your message Wayne since
I've already picked on you
once. ;-)

I haven't been approached by any outside
vendors, just folks already on the
list who sell stuff and are concerned about
placing "self serving" posts on
the list... I believe they simply do not
wish to impose upon everyone.

Of the responses I've recieved so far,
besides a couple of individuals that
sell products supporting the idea... only
one list member liked the idea...
everyone else says keep it here. It really
makes no difference to me, I can
set the new list/archives up in a matter of minutes.

For the moment I guess I would say to those
who have offers they want to
share... fire away on this list. If anybody
has a problem with that, speak
up... it's easy enough to move else where.

Mike

Guess I am slightly biased, seeing my name
popped up, but I prefer it to
stay all on this list. There's always the
delete key for those that aren't
interested in Georges's or the Kimball's
great offerings, or my own for
that
matter. I don't think any of us overly
burden the list with sales pitches,
but of course if we start to please do speak up.

On the other hand Mike, if you are being
approached on how to present
commercial offers to the Murphy builders
from individuals outside the
builder community should any of us be
concerned that we will be swamped
with
sales pitches, or is it just another
builder/retailer that is just asking
for a green light before he/she throws the
sales pitch out??
Thanks,
Wayne

KJKimball

Commercial Offers

Post by KJKimball » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:42 pm

Wayne,

Thanks for the feed back. I too have VERY rural dial up access here. We are
out in the farm land near Orlando where we cannot get cable, DSL or any other
nifty high speed service. All we have available is satellite which at this
point is not at a practical cost for us. Shoot, I am having a great
connection day when I get all the way up to about 42k. Typically, our phone
lines out here allow 32k-38k at best. The previous post that I made with the
photo included was made from my dial up and did not take that long to upload.

Back on the subject of M14P installation, those building a moose, please feel
free to call or email anytime if you have questions on M14P installation.

George Coy

Commercial Offers

Post by George Coy » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:42 pm

Well,
As I am the one who raised the question with Mike to begin with, I should
fess up to it. The reason is that I got a good deal on some alternators from
Skytronics on the last day of the year sale and can offer six at 10% below
the normal price. I am offering the kit with adapter for those who bought an
M14P from another source. E-mail me privately if you are interested.
By the way, with the Christmas weeks slow down ( the phone only rang 20
times a day), I have been able to accomplish more on my kit than the last
three months. Wings are done and now the tail section is done and the
vertical stab attached.
On to the control system now.

George Coy

Commercial Offers

Post by George Coy » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:42 pm

Yup. You either got nothing or the big ole generator. The generator needs a
carbon pile regulator and a 4 lb reverse current relay. I am sure you will
be doing something else.

The alternator is the standard JASCO Skytronics 6555 (12v) or 7555 (24v). I
can fax you the data or you can get it from the Skytronics web site
(www.skytronicsinc.com). It is the same alternator that is STC'd on a lot of
older aircraft engines. (Jacobs, GO480, W670). The kits are normally $850.00
and we are offering 10% off on six kits. Skytronics had a Dec 31 inventory
reduction sale and I bought 6 kits. (4-12v & 2-28V). The kit includes
alternator, solid state regulator, and adapter for M14P. They are a little
larger and heaver than the 35Amp B&C units, but several hundred dollars
lower cost. They are rated 50 amp continuous duty.
