Metric conversion question

Post by S & L Aldrich » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:25 pm

While we're at it. I was looking up some of the shear and tensile strengths
of some of the Avex rivets. Some show .7 KN. I am assuming that is Kilo
Newtons?? Aircraft Spruce shows their rivets strengths in pounds (doesn't
say PSI just says pounds). I have a conversion program (thanks Britt) that
shows 1 KN is equal to 224 pound force. Not sure if that is what Aircraft
Spruce is referring to or not?

So, is a standard 1/8 Avex is 157 pounds (.7kN) in shear and 224 (1.0kN)in
tension for the metrically challenged??

Scott
