Floor channels/angles

Also, for you SR builders anyway, the manual has you use a single angle on
the outer shear webs in the cargo floor area. It makes for a much nicer,
and stronger installation if you use angles on both sides of the shear webs.
Then the middle floor skins and outer floor skins (which are actually angled
pieces that cover the floor and part of the side skins) can be butted up
against each other instead of overlapping. Plus, at least for us Alaska
flyers, a good strong cargo floor is sure nice to have. There are a couple
of other places where the manual tells you to put angles on only one side of
the shear web and even has you use smaller angles too. I would just use the
same angle size everywhere (the heavier stuff) and always put the angle on
both sides of the shear webs.

One other thing - I've heard a rumor on a couple of occasions that Murphy is
recommending doublers on the outside of the fuselage to strengthen the
attachment of the tailcone to the cabin on the top and sides but I have not
been able to find any Service Bulletins or other info on the web site, and I
haven't gotten around to asking them. I think the demonstrator has them.
Anybody know if this mod is needed?

If you haven't done the channels in the cabin floor, take a good look where
the seat rails go. The left side isn't very explicit so look at the right
side and by deduction you will figure out where the right side goes.A lot of
us have reconfigured the channels so that they go under the seat rails. Two
channels per rail either back to back or flange to flange.

Mike,

I don't remember where I came across the document, I'll look. In the
meantime, I've posted a picture of Murphy's doublers in this area. Only half
of each doubler is shown in this picture. They extend across the joints
between the cabin side and the corner wrap, and the cabin roof and the
corner wrap. Two each side, somewhat diamond shaped. I'll see if I can find
the documentation.
