Fiberglass Stab tip fairings

Post by Scott & Leere' Aldrich » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:59 pm

When using the MAM stab tip fairings it would be a good idea to trim them
down to a close fit before marking and driller per the instructions. I left
a couple of inches extending out along the leading edge of the stab as this
seemed to help keep the leading edges looking straight. They were up snug
against the leading edge (or so I thought) and all was well. However once I
trimmed them down to final size along the rivet line they are no longer snug
against the leading edge. Roughness inside the fairing leading edge held
them away from the skin. If I put the leading edge snug, of course my holes
don't line up any more...
