Scott,
In case you did not know Hartzell is currently developing a prop for the
M-14.

"I spoke with Brad Huselman (our OEM rep) from Hatzell last week. Apparently
both he and George Coy from Gesoco Industries have been working closely to
provide a propeller for the M14P. Brad said they hope to begin testing in
early January with hopes they will be taking order before Sun'n Fun.
We would very much like to put the Hartzell on the front
of our M-14PF 400 HP which we picked up from George Coy in Swanton VT. two
weeks ago, BUT, when we asked Hartzell, via email, if they where going to
have Beta (reverse) as an option they said they will not offer it. We know
that most single engine float planes do not operate with Beta, BUT, when we
ask high time seaplane pilots who have used aircraft which were Beta
equipped they respond without hesitation that it is great to have. I will
follow up with Hartzell to see if they might change their minds. If they are
firm on not offering reverse then it looks like we will be purchasing an
MTV-9 with beta. Diameters discussed are 96, 98, 102, and 108 inch. Choices
Choices Choices.
We will be making a decision in the next couple of weeks. I will keep you
posted.

Hartzell Prop for M-14
Hartzell Prop for M-14
Thanks Don, I had not heard about the Hartzells, thanks for the info. It is
not easy shopping for an engine either. Seems to be a lot of finger
pointing among the different importers. What is the progress on your SR??

Hartzell Prop for M-14
I always thought that with float planes they could easily get into places
they can't get out of. If you need beta to get stopped, I don't see how
you'd ever get back out. Or is it just nice to be able to back out of a
Marina slip, or off the shore? Nice taxi options too if on amphibs.
