For SR-2500 builders:
Don't know if anyone else has had the same problem in trying to follow the
directions in the manual regarding attaching a 1/4" nut plate to the main
root
rib of the flaps -- which will hold the AN4 actuator attach -- however, I
wanted to warn all builders of a seeming manual discrepancy or mistake.
The manual instructs you to rivet the flap skin to the rib/spar assembly;
but
then several steps (and pages) later you must rivet a 1/4" plate nut to the
INSIDE of the main root rib (AIL-23) and the end reinforcing plate Flap-303.
Unfortunately, there is no way to do this since the skin and rib will then
have no opening to the outside. The nut plate must be fitted and riveted to
the root rib and plate prior to closing the skin at this end. MAM admits
that
there is a mistake in the manual and hopefully will make the correction. In
the meantime, be on the lookout for this problem.

I've carefully read your post, and double checked the manual reguarding the
flap actuator assembly. Your message does not clearly state what you
actually think to be correct, but suggests you might be trying to rivet the
nut plate to the inside of the rib.
My instructions clearly describe the nut plate being mounted on the outside
of the end plate and rib, and nowhere in the instructions does it say to
mount the nut plate on the inside of the rib.
It does say to attach the nut plate to the rib with an AN4 bolt by running
the bolt through from the rib side of the end plate. It does not state that
the end plate is attached to the rib at the time and I think the point is to
firmly and accurately hold the nut plate, while the rivet holes are being
drilled into the end plate. This would leave the nutplate on the outside of
the end plate (and therefore the rib), with the rivets attaching it
eventually going through the nut plate, the end plate, and the rib.
Do you agree?
MAM, please clarify.
