[rebel-builders] MDRA Fuselage Inspection

Post by Jeff Micheal » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:36 pm

David, Get in touch with the person who will be doing your inspection. The
inspector we had didn't mind us closing the floor, just as long as we
documented everything with pictures that he could view upon his inspection.
Each inspector is a bit different.... in some cases they think they are god.

How far along should I have the fuselage before I ask for an MDRA
inspection? Obviously I cannot close up anything, such as the rear floor.
I'm at the point now where the main and rear floors are ready to install.
I intend to run all wiring and plumbing above the floors. Installing
controls will be easier (I think) with the floors installed.
How far along were other Canadian builders with the fuselage when they
had the inspection done?

Thanks

[rebel-builders] MDRA Fuselage Inspection

Apparently the inspector who did my tailfeathers and flaperons is no longer doing inspections. I guess I can try contacting MDRA and seeing who is covering my area now. Thanks

[rebel-builders] MDRA Fuselage Inspection

Dave

I did the whole airplane precover inspection all at once. Saved a bit of
cash and left everything open for any mods or upgrades that came to
light during my multi year slow build.

The fuselage was on the wheels with floor not installed. No reason to
wait longer AFAIK as the floor is the only thing that covers
or hides anything in the fuselage. Also it may take awhile to schedule
the inspection.
