Just pulling RJ's chain...it's his Elite that's in my hangar that we just
took from US registry into Cdn marks and C of A.

Well it's that time again already... things are getting a bit dusty too, so
today after the backup and maintenance is complete, I'll be taking the system
out to the shop for a blow job... uh, shot of compressed air!

I will be taking the server down for a couple of hours tomorrow to perform a backup... just check back later if you get no response to the web site.

Woke up at 1am tonight, and after half an hour of lying as still as possible so as not to wake the wife, I gave up on the idea of going back to sleep. So I went downstairs to poke around on the server and got a bit of a scare... the system had halted due to a memory parity error, but that's not the scary part... the scary part is when I tried to reboot it, it halted again. Uh oh! Well, this is why I have been doing backups a couple of times a month since the last crash 18 months ago.

The first thing I did since it was past due anyway was disconnect everything and go out to the shop and clean it all out with the compressed air, I then went ahead and reseated all the cables and components while I had it open.

Well the good thing is that everything came back up just fine after this... the bad thing is that I haven't done a backup since 1/20. Wake up Mike! So, I'll have the server back down for the next couple of hours while I do a full backup and routine maintenance.
