John Petrie in South Africa built a KIS Cruiser with a normally aspirated
230HP Subaru EG33 horizontally opposed 6 cylinder motor. He has a Ross PSRU
installed on the motor and is asking $8500US for it. Apparently with 15
hours of flight time on the engine he had a complete electrical failure, and
he ended up collapsing the gear landing short of the runway. For the whole
story go to http://www.sdsefi.com/air34.htm, the information you're looking
for is near the bottom of the page. If you want additional information

Subaru SVX engine for sale
John has since mentioned additional details about problems with the Ross
psru on the airsoob newsgroup. I gather it would have failed fairly soon
as well. He has so far not given details of why the engine quit. One can
choose to install dual/backup electric systems and dual independant
ignition systems on auto engines and sometimes even dual fuel injection
though.
