Many planes weren't in the 100 foot wide confirmed F1 tornado strip either.
Dakota Cubs Super 18 was held down by two sets of tie downs. The Claw broke
(not pulled out, the legs broke off) and the spiral stake pulled out too.
The SCub went on it's back onto the nose of their LSA version while Mark,
Speedy and Amy held it down. Missed by the other airplane by 4 feet.
The Helio Courier had pieces of "The Claw" hanging from all three points.
Right wing had one leg missing and left wing only had the eye bolt left.
Takes a lot to throw a Caravan on it's back.
I don't think it had a lot to do with what you tied down with.. ...it was
what soil saturation was like where you were at and what wind/suction path
you were in. Whether you had tail into wind or nose.
Here's a video that shows how once the airplane weather cocks it doesn't
need it's tie downs anymore! (they got REAL lucky)

Tiedowns are dependent on soil type. Claws do not seem to work very well
here in Florida and screw types seem to be better. Both types do not work
well in wet soil. Screw type harder to get in ground in rocky soil. The

However, I do not believe that this tiedown is available as I get no
response
from either an email and phone is no longer in service.
The result is that all kits do not meet FAA requirements - see video
So know your soil and buyer beware.
