If it's not already there you should install a firewall stiffener
I presently have the 2.2 litre 160 HP Suraru engine out of my Rebel to
replace the camshaft timing belt, water pump and idler pulleys. While it
is out, are there any mods/stiffeners or such that I should be doing to
the airframe?

between the 2 top motor mounts. Use 2 pieces of u channel one on each
side of the firewall from the motor mount bracket to the witches hat
with an overlap in the centre.
