[rebel-builders] RE: Floor Channels and Seat Rails

Post by Walter Klatt » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:30 pm

I know a guy who did that, and after flying changed the right seat back to
the stock position. Moving the seat inwards makes for more shoulder touching
with big guys. You lose the Rebel's wide cabin advantage.

Hi Roland,
I have used the .020 channels without spacers but have positioned them
so they will catch the seat rail rivets at the front. It's not possible to
do the same at the rear but I did position the inner channels under the
seat rail so as to catch the inboard rivets. One of my next jobs is to
translate all that to the inner floor.
FWIW after some thought I placed both seats an inch inboard instead of
just the pilots, thinking a bit less seat belt clutter. Can't tell you
whether it worked for a while yet.
Cheers Mike
