[rebel-builders] Volcanic Airspace.

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:19 pm

Angus, my brother tells me they are supposed to open British airspace
tomorrow. He's stuck on the ground there as well (like Nigel).... well
kinda... it's cutting into training flights, but they still have their sims,
then he's off to Ireland to fly for Thompson for the next 6 months to
fullfill the positioning that Skyservice contracted with Thompson before
Skyservice was forced into bankruptcy. He and his crews managed to wiggle in
with the same salary/housing/conditions.. without the middle man!

Both our daughters are also supposed to be on a flight to the UK on
Monday... so air traffic had better resume.... or it's gonna get real pissy
around here....

Hey Nigel.. if you do facebook.. Murray has opened up a page so he can keep
in contact with all his fellow employees etc. It's the only way we can
currently contact him.. so try to track him down for a pint or two.. he's
in England 'till the end of the month, then off to Ireland.

Wayne

Hi Ken,
Glad to hear you all had such fun at SnF!!
Sorry to have missed. I still want to join you all for the trip, and I'm
sure Chris does too. Maybe next year?
I guess I'll have to make it out for a couple of flying ocassions with you
guys this year to show good intent for next year.
I'm still in sunny Africa enjoying being stranded with the ash cloud.
Work in Sudan went well even with the accompanying election there. Not
sure what 50C is in F. but it's really hot when you are working.
Since Nairobi, Amsterdam,Detroit was cancelled we were able to get routed
via Emirates to Dubai UAE then Houston TX, Detroit MI and home the end of
the week.
Hope to make it to bobp's next Murphy soiree'......Angus

Thanks Wayne, will do.
Finally flew again yesterday afternoon to Spain and back - no problems.
UK still closed North of us though... looks like it's drifting back a bit !!
Still cold and windy on the ground here despite the sun being out most
days... about 6c max. Standby this afternoon so expecting another Spain
rescue flight later this evening. I'll try and catch up with Murray over the
next few days.
