Can't say if the angle of incidence of the wing matters, but have not seen
an Elite that can go faster than my Rebel,... yet. Dennis is installing his
new O-375 now, so that might be the first one. But we'll see...
I think fairings have the biggest effect on speed, including amphibs, based
on the experience of Steve Sloan down in Arlington. And yes, flaperon reflex
really speeds it up, too.
I recently changed my float angle from 2.5 to 3.5 degrees. Have not noticed
any difference in speed or any nose down pressure.

I would not recommend this. Think you will find that reflexed Rebel
flaperons are a better solution. One thing the Rebel does not need is
more nose up attitude from what I can see. It would also complicate
fairings and reduce take off performance on floats. OTOH I did lower the
leading edge of the stab as per Wayne's post of some years ago and am
glad that I did.
You may find the answer to your incidence question in some of the float
rigging messages as the incidence relative to the bottom of the fuselage
has been mentioned several times as has the angle between the bottom of
the wing and the bottom of the fuselage.

Hi all,
I've been wondering why the 320 Elite cruises faster than the 320
Rebel...... if it does. I've just re-read Darryls letter on the net about
moving the firewall back 3" where he says the angle of incidence of the
Rebel is greater than the Elite because the Elite is expected to cruise
faster than the Rebel because the 360 can be fitted.
I'm building a 320 Rebel and am thinking my cruise might increase if
I
use the Elite a of incidence.
Can anyone advise me of the angles of incidence of both planes? And
has anyone made a comparison?
Thanks and Cheers Mike
