Moose control stick base

Post by Tim Saxton » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:54 pm

I'm setting up the control column and the the instructions (page 2, Chapter 12) show AN365 fiber nuts to connect the aileron cables to the control stick base and push-pull tube. Is it acceptable to use a fiber nut, or should a drilled bolt and castle nut be substituted? I have two concerns: 1) nut tightened to recommended torque might be too much for the (unbraced) control stick base, 2) I believe that a fibre nut is only to be used with a rod end bearing if the bearing is clamped so that no torgue can be transfered to the nut.

What did you flying Moose do?
