[rebel-builders] Moose external Cargo Door

Post by Kelly M. Ewing » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:36 pm

Hi Jack, I am in the progress of building a moose as well, my fuselage is a quick build, MAM sent me 2 manuals, a cd and believe it or not there are sections in each of the three that have different instructions for the same install? I am looking at the manual now and section 9.3 is mating the tail cone, and when read further it looks like you cut in the cargo door after the fact. Steps 56 through 66 .... ( Section 9.3

If you don't get a more professional answer I would be happy to send you a few pictures. Just let me know.

Kelly

Need some help,

I'm at the point mating the cabin to the tailcone of the Moose. I can't find any info in the MAM manual on how to cut in the side skin for the cargo door and all the other details related to the surrounding doorsil. Am I missing  something in the manual.
Thanks,

Jack,  SR 193

[rebel-builders] Moose external Cargo Door

Post by Ted Waltman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:36 pm

Jack & Kelly,

Yes, section 9.3, steps 56 forward do an adequate job of describing how to
cut the cargo door. Don't forget that you need to add in internal FUS-33
corner wrap at least at the four sections inside between station 8 &
bulkhead B/C.

Remember, if you are not building/installing the internal baggage door at
station B/C, then you need to also install FUS-33 corner wrap between bulk-C
& D. I know some folks who have installed FUS-33 corner wrap from station 8
all the way back to bulk-H. From what I've seen in several folks Moose, I
highly recommend adding internal FUS-33 corner wrap as far back as you can.
Just purchase some 0.020, 0.025 or if you have to, 0.032 from one of several
on-line sources for aluminum and make your own.

[rebel-builders] Moose external Cargo Door

Post by lawsondj » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:36 pm

Ted and Kelly,

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look closer.  I do have internal corner wraps fitted but not permanently installed yet between bulk-B & F, and plan to extend them forward to station 8.
Kelly, a few pictures of that internal area at the cargo door would be helpful--thanks.
