As you use up spray cans, clean the plastic spray nozzle by turning the can
upside down (which you should do after you complete each spray session).
Then pull off the plastic nozzle and save it. Build up a nice collection.
When you get a nozzle clog on new or old zinc-chromate, try pulling off the
old and popping in a spare nozzle from your collection. You may be able to
carry on and use up the rest of the spray can.
This is really quick and easy. There are ways to clean nozzles (compressed
air, soaking in solvent, etc.) but just having a bunch of clean old nozzles
is really easy.
Sometimes, the sludge gums up the entire works and the can is unusable, but
try the nozzle swap trick.
Works with all spray paint cans, but different manufactures have differing
nozzles. So, save specific nozzles if you can...try anything if you can't.
