Thanks a lot fellows. That's good to know the Rebel has had no problems with
it's trim system.

Hi Charlie !

No worries ! To the best of my knowledge NOBODY has EVER
bent a trim rod on the Rebel OR the Elite, NOR had a runaway trim !!!
And that includes flying on floats, and in very heavy rain ....
In any case, you can manually overpower the trim on the Rebel...

As has been mentioned several times, the Rebel really doesn't
need much trim adjustment - usually just once to suit your load,
and you can do touch 'n goes all day without ever TOUCHING the
trim..... Still, it IS nice to have it there ! I would definitely
install it.

If any of you is determined to be paranoid about it, then go
ahead and add the metal tube as a sleeve over the rod - it should be a
snug fit, even without ProSeal, and touch both ends.

It is FAR more important to be sure that you have TWO "L"
horns (brackets) on the elevator tab end, preferrably with a large
.032 doubler under them, and/or an extra rib or 2 inside the trim tab
to support them !!! I had one of the old single arm horns
fail in flight - it's not pretty !! Full stick travel elevator flutter
!!
Land immediately before it rips off ..... ;-)
(The tab skin tore ..... that's why the doubler & extra ribs ...)

am not a fan of electric trim controls, although I purchased my rebel kit

mechanical trim system.
