Hi Steve,
I'm moving it back mostly because it's recommended by Murphy if you fly
floats or install the larger engine option. We have planned for the 0320
throughout the build (except when, like Ben, I wasn't drooling over the
Rotec 3600) and my discussions with several builders led me to believe that
moving it was optional now due to the increased thickness of the corner
wraps and thicker FUS-26 and 25. Without moving it back I would have had to
put my battery in the tailcone somewhere and run heavy, important cables
back to it. Initially I was okay with that but the more I thought about it
the more I decided I wanted the battery on the firewall and nothing not
absolutely necessary running to the back. So in a moment of clarity
(weakness) I removed a side panel and lopped 3" off of it thus sealing the
deal! I'm thinking it's the right thing to do and when I get caught up to
where I was prior I'll be realy happy.
Lesson learned, again: think things through before you act! CW
