My empty CG is at 7.87 with an empty weight of 1844. Heavy Chevy puts the CG
a bit forward. But having worked a few theoretical loading scenarios I am
very glad of that. Everything moves the CG aft. Also, my first flight was
pretty close to 20 inches aft of the datum due to an error in my W&B
spreadsheet which led to too many salt bags in back and it flew terrible!
Wallowing, barely climbing, and not able to maintain altitude without a lot
of power. Part of the problem was too fine a pitch on the prop without being
able to increase pitch but I'm using a personal aft CG limit of 19 inches
until I can explore that region more carefully with a fully controllable
prop.

My Moose CG comes in at 11.61" with a gross of 2,164 lb.
I've seen an allowable range that one person used of 10.5" - 21.9". Another
builder used an allowable range of 10.8" - 20.4".
Does anyone know what the factory recommends? I don't have the manual in
front of me now.
