[rebel-builders] continental o-300

Don't recall one and the issue is those extra 2 cylinders... further out...
= nose heavy and longer moment arm on firewall/door post fwd section of the
fuselage that could possibly = landing damage. Also consider 6 cylinders to
maintain for 145 HP. when you can get much more power (and lighter weight)
with 4 cylinders.

[rebel-builders] continental o-300

Right on, Wayne ! That longer, heavier engine will not be
a good choice, Bob !! Also, you'll be buying new cylinders
every 300 - 400 hours ..... :-(
(Speaking as a former owner of 2 OLD Continentals -
the 6 cylinder is smooth, and pretty good with fuel,
but not cheap to keep running !)

There IS one Rebel with a 6 cylinder Continental - a modern
IO-360, I think .... BUT - it was extensively modified, and the
builder had assistance from a very talented Rebel builder with
an engineering background ! .... and it is on amphibs only....
This is quite a different situation ....

Not to mention that you are completely on your own for
mounts, cowling, etc. ..... Just NOT the best way to get
flying quickly & safely !
