Tools - Drilling Equipment
RIVEDRILLT

The patented drill attachment that easily converts
cordless, electric and pneumatic drills into blind rivet guns. This
innovative new tool allows operators to set up to 14 rivets per minute -
twice as many as can be set by standard hand tools. And the new RiveDrillT
is also ergonomically friendly, requiring just 6.6 pounds of pressure to
operate, compared to 77.2 pounds required for hand tool operation.

The RiveDrillT can be quickly inserted into a
3/8"-reversible power drill as any standard drill bit would and is able to
set any standard blind rivet up to 3/16" aluminum. The shank of the rivet is
expelled when the drill is operated in the "reverse" mode. (For cordless
electric power drills, a minimum 12v battery is recommended.) Nosepieces for
1/8", 5/32" and 3/16" sizes are included.

Roger Hoffman and other Builders,
Rebel #719 is ready for an engine. Would you share your opinion and
experience with your new Cont 0-240B. Does the fuel injection work well
and would you recommend this engine to another Rebel Builder?
Thanks, Cris Tucker

With the narrow Matco rims (Model W62) I would like to go with a 700 size
tire versus an 800. Anyone got experience with the smaller tire? Any
downside?

Mike Kimball

[rebel-builders] New? Rivet tool

Post by Mike Kimball » Sun Feb 19, 2012 7:51 pm

After Googling it I found their website and watched their video which runs
so fast you have to view it a few times to get the idea. I don't think you
are going to want that tool. You have to run your drill in one direction to
set the rivet, then run your drill in reverse to expel the mandrel. You are
not going to want to do that 20,000 times. Buy a regular $40 pneumatic rivet
gun. Then you just pull the trigger once for each rivet. You'll be setting a
whole bunch of rivets in place then going from one rivet to the next, pop,
pop, pop. It would take you a lot longer to do that with the Rivedrill.

[rebel-builders] New? Rivet tool

Post by Jesse Jenks » Sun Feb 19, 2012 7:51 pm

I have one of these and used it to build my control surfaces when I started building in a spare bedroom and couldn't have a compressor running in the house. I used it on a Panasonic cordless drill and it worked great. You get used to reversing the drill quicqly, and can actually go pretty fast from one rivet to the next.
I reccomend it for a situation like that where you can't use an air compresssor
