[rebel-builders] Fuel Vent

Post by Richard Wampach » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:37 pm

I have posted 4 photos (with the assistance of Ted Waltman) of the fuel
venting method installed in my Moose, see area 106 - wings.

Secondary Fuel Vents: The vents sometimes called a "Mushroom" were
removed from old 182 flush plastic gas caps. I drilled a hole at the
high point in the fuel bay, and pressed them in from the inside, secured
the "Dome" from the outside, and sealed them in place with fuel tank
sealant. The vents did not fit into the Murphy gas caps which are a lot
smaller.

The visual fuel quantity Tab is marked in approximately 10 Gal
increments (60 gal tanks), and riveted to the rib next to the filler
neck. This should give a ball park reference when fueling.
