Mike,
That is something I hadn't thought of but you are right. I still feel it would help the re-sale though if I were to ever sell to have a Continental vs a Rotax. But with fuel prices rising I think more people will be using the Rotax. I'm still quite a ways from having to make that decision so never know what will be available by the time I need one.

Reminder to those using "certified" airplane engines regarding re-sale. If
you want to retain your ability to re-sell an engine as "certified" you must
keep it certified. That means all ADs complied with (good idea even if you
allow it to lapse into "experimental" status). I'm not sure, but I wouldn't
be surprised if the annual condition inspection on the engine has to be
accomplished by an A&P with inspection authority (IA) to keep it
"certified". There might be other certification issues as well, such as
operation with a prop not approved for that engine.

Cheaper than the Rotax and I can stay LSA legal.

I say go for it. By all I've heard the C-90 puts out just as much power as
an 0-200. Way back in the earlly nineties when I bought my kit I was told
by someone ( maybe former salesman Dave Walker ) that the rebel was
designed to use an 0-200. The reason they went with rotax and lycoming is
that back then continental wouldn't sell engines to homebuilders. The nice
part of using a well known engine is that if it doesn't work out you'll be
able to sell it for pretty close to what you paid.
