I went up to the factory yesterday to pickup a dynafocal mount, high speed
cowl, windshield and assorted replacement parts (for parts that I
mangled...I mean didn't meet spec).
I just test fitted the dynafocal mount on the Elite firewall and the two
upper flanges on the mount appear to need a 1/8" to 1/4" trim for a snug
fit. These flanges overhang the firewall as-is.
I also looked a several pics of others' firewalls and it does look like
trimming or grinding is needed. Have other Rebel or Elite builders
experienced this?

FWIW, My mounting problem with the firewall forward kit and mounting my O-540 was a wee bit of a problem - between a tapered bolt, some lifting and muscle power, and a few taps - the bolts went in and tightened OK.
