Michael;

You can not have to big of a hangar! The next guy to come along will
want to put something bigger in it than you envision any way. Also when
you get the builders bug in you will want a small fast toy, then a sport
or ultra light, you certainly would not want to leave your King Air or
Conquest sitting outside would you? --- it just goes on. welcome to
the world of experimental airplanes!

Don't forget lots of lighting, heated floor, air conditioner, some
windows, overhead hoist, and a bathroom and you might as well throw in
office and lounge space. While your at it make it an apartment!

Yes the wing span is greater with the extended droop wing tips, about 2'
more. As Drew suggests at least 40' wide. Make it high enough to hold
a 185 which I think has a slightly taller tail.

We do have a fellow at Placerville (east of Sacramento CA)that added
ramps to get the tail down on his 185 amfib in an older hangar with too
low of a door height for the plane. He gets it in and out ok, but uses
ladders for everything.

I am looking to build a new hanger and I want to make it big enough to
hold a Moose on amphib floats with drooping wing tips. My questions
are:

1. Is the height of a Moose on Amphib floats 13.5 feet? This is what I
recall reading, but can't seem to find the information now.

2. The standard wingspan of the Moose is 36 feet. Do the Drooping Wing
Tips make the wingspan longer than 36'?

I don't want to build the hanger too big as it is on a private airstrip
so resale someday is a big factor.

Thanks,

The height sounds about right though it bepends on which floats you use. If
you put in a 40' door someday you'll be able to sell to a cessna 172 driver.
