Fus-4 alignment

Post by bransom » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:08 pm

Hi all
I'm working on getting alignment of the Fus-4 with Fus-26 and Bulkhead F.
This is where the Fus-4 and carry-thru's are bolted upright to the table,
then the tail and Bulkhead A raised for alignment. My question is, what
kind of alignment tolerance is there?

For memory sake, see:
http://mae.ucdavis.edu/ransom/Murphy/mi ... 2_10_1.htm

I currently have everything aligned about as close as I think it can be --
the left side Bulkhead A is a perfect 90* from the table, but the right
side of Bulkhead A is 89.6 or .7 (leaning forward). This amounts to the
top of Bulkhead A being about 1/4" more forward than the bottom of Bulkhead
A, on the right side. Perhaps lucky coincidence, the Fus-4 uprights are
about the same -- i.e. the left side is 90.1* rearward and the right side
leans 89.7* forward, so they are parallel to Fus-A. Also note, this is
with the holes of Fus-25 and Fus-26 aligned.

Is the above acceptable, or does it spell trouble ahead? Any advice would
be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben/ 496R
