Moose: V-brace / windshield measurement

Post by Ted Waltman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:00 pm

I'm going to have a friend weld a new, stronger V-brace for me, as my
current one is the old style where some folks, particularly on floats, have
seen some cracking in the upper attach tabs. Can someone please measure the
following for me:

- Distance straight out from the upper tabs to the inside of the
windshield

- Distance straight up from 1" and then 2" out from the extended
centerline of the upper tab bolt hole to the bottom of the windshield (i.e.
how fast does the windshield slope downward)?

What I'm trying to see is if I have enough room to beef up the upper tabs to
an attachment design more like you see with the engine mount tab/bolt
structure..or if I have to simply stay with the current (albeit perhaps
slightly thicker) tab design due to the windshield interference.

Thank you!
