Elite 0-360 Carb Intake

Helping a buddy with his windshield on his Elite. He has a Superior 0-360
180 hp and a high speed cowl. The airbox supplied with the firewall kit,
when mounted to the carb, is offset about 1 1/2" to the port side of the
inlet hole. Anyone else experience this and what did you do for a good fit
other than re-work the front of the airbox? Thanks to those that respond.
