Your right Dave, Some of the Peterson line of dry sump oil tanks look like good alternatives.

You might find something in the car racing line. I don't know about the M-14
requirements but this
(http://www.moroso.com/catalog/categoryd ... code=15008) is a 7 quart
tank
from Moroso. They have a 5 quart also.

Peterson has 12 quart units here
(http://www.vacmotorsports.com/cgi-bin/s ... n=Peterson)

I'd expect you can find many other options.

Cheers,

Dave

Don't know for sure that they offer an oil tank but Kimball Enterprises also
has a lot of stuff for the Moose/M14 firewall forward.

Thanks Eddie, That's exactly what I did, bought the ring last week. That means
I'll wind up with an extra ring but that's ok too.

Steve Culp has engine rings. Look on his ebay site....search under Culp
Specialties.

Hi Bob,

That's great news on the tank and oil cooler. Thanks

As for the engine rings, the only source I've seen is on the Kimball
Enterprises website on their Murphy Moose support page.
Of course the dilemna is, when you pull the ring off the engine to
send out to have it welded up into an engine mount, how do you support
the engine in the meantime? I guess you can always turn it upside down
and rest it on a truck tire.

Hi Jack !

The website is a sore point !! It IS being completely re-worked,
and will be a much more useful resource very soon now ....

The factory has just completed an aluminum oil tank for the
Moose. It's passed testing, and full production will start soon -
you should be able to get one within about 6 weeks. This tank
is over 8 lb. lighter than the original steel tank they used to sell !

The rings for the engine mounts are getting VERY difficult to
source, that's why Murphy is asking builders to supply them, as
they often come with the engines - and they just can't find any !

Oil coolers are available now, and have been for a while,
directly from Murphy.

Hello Bob,

If they do sell oil tanks it's sort of a mystery. It's not mentioned on the
website
for accessories.

I haven't contacted George Coy yet, good idea. However, I have seen
pictures
of M-14P oil tanks meant for aerobatic aircraft and they appear too large in
diameter
for use with the Murphy engine mount.
