Float inspection/pump out plates

Post by Clay Smith » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:52 am

Hi Guys,
I'm looking over the instructions for cutting out and installing the float inspection plates located in the side skins (2 on the left skin and 1 on the right). I would like to use a hole cutter to make the 5 1/2 " plates thinking that a hole in the center of this plates is OK because according to all the pictures I see a pump-out cup will be installed in these plates later, although I can't find that step anywhere.
Also, I'm confused about the purpose of the small W-49. The manual is saying these W-49s which only has a 9/16" hole in the center is "used for pumping out water from these compartments" ...? This doesn't make any sense to me. My guess is that the W-49 is installed to vent some compartments.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Clay
