Wing Skin Setup (flush caps)

Post by Bob Patterson » Fri Feb 17, 2012 5:57 pm

Those flush caps are really nice - I'd sure recommend them to
anyone building a Super Rebel ! This thing is fast enough that
every bit of drag reduction is worthwhile ....

I take it your talking about Rebel wings, however speaking for the SR,
at least #029 the fuel holes are pre punched. I installed the flush caps
which required a slightly larger hole. I found an easy way to up size by
clecoing scrap stock to the back and a piece of plywood. I then drilled
a new centre hole and used a circle cutter to enlarge. The edge distance
is pretty small on the fuel cap lip so ensure a tight fit!

Bob,
My wing skins are put away now, but I did handle each one and don't remember
seeing a pre-punched fuel fill hole. I'm pretty sure there wasn't any, but I
could very well be wrong.

If there were no hole, how do you tell inside from outside?
