[rebel-builders] fuselage root rib...

Post by Jesse Jenks » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:38 am

Jean,
I couldn't get mine to lay flat on a table. I made the top flange as
straight as possible, and as I drilled the holes into the roof I was
carefull to keep it straight. It worked out fine.
I drilled the holes in the root rib flange first (#40) and drilled through
those from below into the roof with a long bit. That way I was sure to miss
all the flutes in the flange. I don't have a shrinker.

Hello,

The manual ask for straigten the top flange of both fuselage root rib so
they should lie flat when placed on a table!"/$$%. The first one is
now "flatter" but look very difficult to make it perfectly flat! Should
I visit an expert somewhere? There is much less tension at this point than
the solid ribs of the gas tank... but may be it is still too much?
