you plan to fly inverted, however the inspector may a least require what the
manual states. Bob J Rebel 192/731

Subject: [rebel-builders] Elevator travel
Rebel builders
I just assembled for the first time the finished horizontal stab and the
elevators. I wanted to see how they looked assembled and check for free
rotation. The "up" elevator travel is free to move well past 45* but the
"down" travel is restricted to 17* due to interference with the bottom leg
of the main (rear) spar (ST-27) and the control horn (CC-43). At this
stage
of assembly HOW MUCH DOWN TRAVEL IS REQUIRED and what is the preferred
solution? Do I grind a small notch in the spar leg or the control horn or
a
little on both?
On the subject of elevator travel. I hope to build light enough to fly
under
the LSA Pilot Rules so when the aircraft is completely assembled what is
the
preferred up and down elevator travel? The only reference I can find in
the
manual is under CONTROL INSTALLATION 20.8 step 16. "Trim opening to allow
25* up and 25* down deflection of elevator".
Merry Christmas to all and Happy Holidays
