I must be due for another goof up or something, because I seem to be having
too good a time. A week or two back I reported problems with my verticle
fin not fitting. Well, redoing just the top Fus-29 with the bulkhead
(Fus-36) angled forward fixed that just fine. It is surprising that just
1/4" at the top made all the difference. I'd recommend other Fuselage
builders look at this to avoid the same problem I and apparently a few
others have encountered. I made the replacement Fus-29 from sheet stock
and had also made some corner wraps too, so am starting to feel like I have
gotten at least to legitimate beginner status on metal work. From there, I
went on to make my own Fus-30 doubler -- came out perfect. :) For this I
made a form from a scrap 2x6 with the angle and increasing beveled corners,
and also used a paper template to get the oversize cut-out size from the
original Fus-30. <a href=http://mae.ucdavis.edu/ransom/Murphy/11.06>
