Jean,
I'm going to disagree with Bob (first time for everything I guess). The inner floor does for a "box" and adds substantial rigidity to the assembly. I come down of the rivet side for max strength. Do however think way ahead and make provision for anything which you may want under the floor in the future. An example might be marker beacon antenna leads or fuel lines.
