To Eric F. , I flushrivetted my Rebel's (083R) wing leading edges. I used
the simple MAM supplied dimpling tool, it took a lot of extra work that way,
but it was certainly not impossible. It definitely looks better and look at
the thousands of North-American T-6's (Harvards) that were made that way,
flush leading edges only. The reason back then as it is now, is NOT speed,
but simply bettere aerodynamic flow of air. It made even less sense to bobp
when he found that I had put those little vortex generators( those glue-on
ones) over my nice clean leading edges, but I thought it would help the slow
speed handling. Quite frankly I don't think those little generators make a
darn bit of difference on the Rebel, but I do think smooth leading edges do.
