It must have been an oversight at the factory - they do have
fairly detailed instructions, with drawings, and they really help !
I'm jealous !! I'd dearly LOVE a 912-S - the extra horses would
make FINR a skyrocket !!!
The GSC props that Murphy supplies have worked well. They're
inexpensive (about $395 CDN), and you can order replacement blades
for about $200. They are wood, with a composite leading edge that
stands up well to weather & rain, and are ground-adjustable.
If I had lots of money, I'd use the GSC variable pitch prop
(about $1,500). It's full in-flight adjustable, and made for the 912s !
We have found that 2 blade props work better than 3 blades, and
the Warp Drive blades are skinny, so they usually suggest 3 blades to
handle the horsepower. <Purely personal preference> -> for the Rotax,
I'd use the GSC. Have had 9 years of good experiences !
Whichever prop you go for, it is a good idea to make a cover
for it to keep the UV off. The wood is OK, but the varnish will deteriorate
in sunlight, and let in moisture. Composite gliders are ALL painted
WHITE to reduce effects of sunlight - don't know WHY W-D leave their
props black !!

Thanks bobp for your detailed response. It surely will help. One
problem however is that I did not get any instructions at all from the
factory and I am really working in the dark.
Unfortunately, the only complete Rebel that I know of is 1500 miles away
so it is difficult to see just how he did his cowling.
I have a Rotax 912s 100hp engine on order and it will be here in a few
weeks. I have not decided just what propellor to use but lean toward a
Warp drive. Any suggestions?
I would appreciate some pictures from anyone who is using a Rotax. It
sure would help.
Thanks and regards
Ian Donaldson
